How do I prepare for the NZ citizenship test?

Since the official citizenship test hasn't been released yet, the best preparation right now is building real understanding of the six announced topics rather than memorising a specific set of questions.

A study order that works well: start with the study guide, one chapter at a time, so you get the context behind each topic rather than isolated facts. After each chapter, practise the matching topic quiz immediately while it's fresh, rather than saving all the practice for the end.

Once you've been through all six topics, take a full mock test under normal conditions — no notes, no pausing to look things up — to see how it feels to answer under a bit of time pressure.

Afterwards, use a mistakes review to go back over anything you got wrong. Getting a question wrong once and then reviewing it properly is usually worth more than getting it right by guessing.

Finally, keep the cheat sheet and revision notes for a quick refresher in the days before you expect to need it — short, frequent reviews tend to stick better than one long cram session.
