When is the New Zealand citizenship test starting?

The New Zealand Government has announced that a new citizenship test will be introduced as part of the path to citizenship, expected in late 2027. As of now, the test itself has not been released, and the government has not published exact questions or a final format.

The Government says test topics will include the Bill of Rights Act, human rights, voting rights and democratic principles, New Zealand's system of government, Te Tiriti o Waitangi — the Treaty of Waitangi, some criminal offences, and travelling overseas on a New Zealand passport.
